The “cassette” refers to the case that your awning extends and retracts into. There are several types of cassettes that feature unique benefits depending on your needs.
Full-cassette awnings — A full-cassette retracts your awning for complete protection from the rain, wind and extreme sunlight. They also fold in the fabric cover, roller and arms of your awning to protect your entire awning system. Many people prefer full-cassette awnings because of their sleek, stylish appearance when closed.
Semi-cassette awnings — Like the name implies, a semi-cassette awning allows you to partially retract your awning and provide some cover for the fabric, roller and arms. They’re generally recommended for sheltered outdoor areas where your awnings already have some existing protection.
